Frequently
asked questions

Got questions? We’ve got you covered.
What is Spoony?
Peachy is a digital health clinic that offers fast, affordable ADHD, autism, and disability assessments and support.
How long does the assessment process take?
ADHD assessments are completed in a single 90-minute session. Autism assessments are completed over three 45-minute sessions, typically spaced a week apart.
Who will assess me?
You’ll be assessed by experienced clinicians, including psychiatrists and occupational therapists, depending on your needs. Every assessment includes a formal report and clear next steps.
Do I need a referral?
You don’t need a referral to get started with Spoony. However, if you want to claim a Medicare rebate, you’ll need a valid referral before your first appointment.
Do you offer talk therapy?
Not at this stage. Right now, our focus is on psychiatric support—assessments, diagnoses, and treatment planning with experienced psychiatrists.
What's the difference between a psychologist and a psychiatrist?
Psychiatrists are medical doctors who can diagnose conditions, prescribe medication, and provide treatment plans. Psychologists focus on talk therapy and behavioural support but don’t prescribe medication. At Peachy, our assessments and treatment plans are led by psychiatrists.
Is the assessment covered by Medicare or private insurance?
Yes, our assessments are eligible for a Medicare rebate with a GP referral. We’ll explain exactly what’s covered before you begin. Private insurance coverage depends on your provider and plan.
Can I use the results to apply for the NDIS?
Yes—our functional assessments and diagnostic reports are designed to meet NDIS evidence requirements.
Can I get medication after my ADHD diagnosis?
Yes, if clinically appropriate. Our psychiatrists can provide a treatment plan and refer you for medication management.
Do you assess both children and adults?
Yes, we offer assessments for all ages. If you're not sure which option is right, our team can help guide you.
Will I receive a formal diagnosis?
If you meet the clinical criteria, yes. Your assessment will include a formal diagnosis, a written report, and a personalised support plan where appropriate.
How are sessions conducted?
All sessions are held via secure video call. You can complete your assessment from the comfort of your home using a phone, tablet, or computer.
